A POWYS man has had a court order issued earlier this year extended by 6 months after he admitted breaching it.
As part of an order handed to Eric John Burn, 45, in April, by Welshpool Magistrates’ Court, he was meant to meet with the probation service, but he was not present for home visits on July 2 and 11.
He admitted breaching the order when he appeared on Tuesday, August 6.
Owain Jones, acting for Burn, of Broniaith View, Meifod, said his client was frustrated as he had not wilfully missed the visits, instead insisting there had been a communication error.
“He admits the breach but he is frustrated because there has been communication problems due to his health issues,” said Mr Jones.

“He has a throat problem and has difficulty talking, so he is heavily reliant on texts. He says one appointment was sent in small print so he overlooked it.”
Mr Jones said Burn – who had been charged with drug possession offences and saw his case originally sent to crown court – was dealt with leniently due to the fact the charges dated back to August 2020.
Magistrates extended his order by six months and told him to pay £60 costs and a £50 fine.
