A charity shop in Machynlleth recently re-opened after months of work to move the shop to a new home in the Powys town.
When Machynlleth’s Credu shop was hit with a series of floods that left serious damage to the premises, the carers charity shop decided to move to a new home in Machynlleth.
The charity shop re-opened on Saturday, July 27, officially opening at its new premises on Heol Maengwyn, in what workers at the shop have called a “great new opportunity”.
Shop manager Ceri Herbert said: “The new space was opened after months of hard work by the Credu staff and volunteers. The new shop offers visitors a more relaxing and comfortable retail space, with a wider selection of items for the customer to choose from.
“We have suffered some adversities the last 12 months with a massive flood ruin our shop and losing out on so much for many months.”

The new shop was officially opened by Credu's CEO and staff just before 12pm, welcoming a group waiting to be the first to enter the new shop.
Ms Herbert added: “This opening shows our massive gratitude to our volunteers and supporters over the renovation of our new premises.
“Once past the impressive balloon arch greeting visitors at the entrance, customers inside could browse through the items in three separate rooms, with everything to choose from clothing to bric-à-brac. Customers were also treated to some delightful Credu themed cakes baked by Gill, Bethany and Stan.
“The first day of the shop was a great success with a steady queue of shoppers purchasing items to support the charity throughout the day.
“The shop is a massive achievement for the charity, Credu has been a key part of Machynlleth for almost a decade now.
“Special thanks to everyone's hard work in making it all come together: the Herbert Family, Nicky, Heather and family, Bethany, Gill, Stan, Chris and Gee.
"A big thanks to the whole of the Credu charity as well for making it all happen.”
