A motor vehicle and a lorry were involved in the crash near Refail outside Berriew on Friday afternoon, the fire service said.
Another car was struck by debris from the collision.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that there were no causalities.
Police told motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes while the A483 was closed for around three hours on Friday afternoon (August 2) as emergency services dealt with the incident.

Crews from Montgomery and Welshpool fire stations were called out to make the vehicles safe and used granules to absorb any leaking fluids.
Firefighters then passed the incident on to Dyfed-Powys Police and left the scene at 4.07pm.
The road was reported by Traffic Wales to have reopened shortly after 6pm.
Dyfed-Powys Police has been approached to provide an update about the collision.
