A man will stand trial after denying that he had been drink driving between Caersws and Newtown.
Andrew Richards, 41, is accused of driving a BMW M Sport along the A489 on May 11.
The prosecution allege that he was close to being three times the legal limit.
The charge sheet said that a sample of breath allegedly given to police by Richards gave a reading of 104 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgms.

Gurleen Kaur, representing Richards, told the court that the north Wales man disputed being the driver of the vehicle.
Prosecutor James Ashton told the magistrates: "The defendant says he is not the driver and that it was another individual."
Magistrates granted unconditional bail for Richards, of Pen y Bryn Road, Llanfairfechan, Conwy, to return to the court in Welshpool for his trial on Wednesday, September 18.
