Powys businesses are celebrating after being recognised in this year’s Great Taste Awards.

Food producers from across the county are celebrating after being recognised in the "world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme”.

Trefaldwyn Cheese near Montgomery, whose blue cheese is rated as one of the best in the world, picked up two stars for their Daisy Bank Dairy organic whole milk cheese.

In Llanbrynmair the March Hare Bakery, run by husband-and-wife team Vincent and Callie said they were "incredibly proud" after they picked up two awards. Their Ginger Crème Brûlée Macaron was awarded two stars and their Hot Cross Bun Macaron was given a one star.

Over in Welshpool, the Bubbling Stove’s Seren Charrington-Hollins said it was a “dream come true” after her Classic Gluten Free Brownie got two stars with her Coffee Caramel Brownie also picking up a star.

Newtown-based Radnor Preserves also got a double win with their Marathon Marmalade picking up two stars and their Hand-Cut Blood Orange, Chilli & Smoked Sea Salt Marmalade also picking up another star.

In a post online, Radnor Preserves  said it was "super delighted" to be recognised by the Great Taste Awards 2024.

“This moreish marmalade is inspired both by Marathon, the Greek word for fennel, which lent its name to the battleground, the herald’s run to Athens, and so many races since," the food producer added.

Heartsease Farm, which is part of spring water and soft drinks manufacturer Radnor Hills, added to their list of accolades with their Sparkling Apple & Rhubarb, which was recently shown at the Royal Welsh Show, picking up two stars from the judges.

There was more success in Radnorshire with Wegnalls Farm in Presteigne getting another double win with two stars for their pork and apple burger and another star for their Wegnalls farm pork shoulder.

Fellow Presteigne business Hindwell Farm also picked up a star for their Hindwell Farm Welsh pork sausages.

Across the border in Bishop’s Castle, the highly acclaimed Three Tuns Brewery added to their long list of awards with three of their beers getting awards. Their ‘Fezziwig’ picked up two stars while their ‘Best’ and Stout each picked up a star.

The Three Tuns Brewery said: “For the third consecutive year, we're delighted to share that a selection of our traditional real ales have been awarded in the prestigious Great Taste Awards.”

In Brecon three businesses are celebrating wins with Brecon Chocolates getting a star for their Double Orange Bonbon while Fiercely Fine got one for their Kimchi.

Black Mountain Preserves also picked up a star for their Welsh Rum & Black Extra Jam.
