A POWYS builder who faces 25 charges of breaching trading standards regulations and misleading clients is set to enter pleas to all the alleged offences later this month.
Carl Stringer, a director at Calon Y Coed Ltd, based in south Powys, appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (July 31), but his case was not able to proceed.
The 42-year-old builder is accused of committing 25 offences in total between April 2021 and March 2024.
The offences include recklessly engaging in a commercial practice and participating in a fraudulent business.
All offences relate to work Stringer carried out on homes in the Ystradgynlais area.

Stringer, of Ty Brynglas, Upper Cwmtwrch, had previously been arrested after failing to show up at the spa town court for a previous hearing.
He appeared in front of Swansea magistrates, who adjourned the case to Llandrindod. At Wednesday’s hearing, the court heard case papers had been sent to the defendant, but he had not received them.
Pat Matthews, acting for Stringer, said: “He faces 25 offences. He hasn’t had the opportunity to go through the papers and I haven’t seen them.
“He needs to comment on them so he can enter pleas on the next occasion.”
Magistrates adjourned the case until August 14, when Stringer is due to return to the Llandrindod court.
