THE trial of a Powys man accused of sexual assault is scheduled to go ahead as planned next month.
Benjamin Watkins, 34, from Brecon, faces a single charge of assault by penetration. It is alleged he sexually assaulted a female in a bar in Brecon on August 7, 2021.
Watkins, of Brynawelon, Brecon, denies the offence, having pleaded not guilty to the charge in March.
His case came before a judge in Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Thursday, August 1, for a case progression hearing, regarding forensic evidence.
His trial is due to begin at the court in Merthyr on September 2.
