This year's much-anticipated Guilsfield Show is set to take place in August at the Fron-Y-Fele Field in Groeslwyd.

The community-run event, which is promising a great day out will be held on Thursday, August 8.

The show includes lots of different sections like horses, dogs, horticulture, cookery, photography, floristry, arts, crafts and more, the show promises fun and excitement for everyone.

There is a full day of entertainment in the main ring, including children’s races in the afternoon.

By scrapping the entry fee to all individual categories, barring the horse section, the organisers aim to encourage people from every walk of life to participate and "have a go".

The horse section will have an additional cost of £5 per competitor.

Show chairman, Guy Ennever, said: "Entry to as many classes as you like is included within the show admission price.

"We hope this will encourage everyone to get involved and have a go at lots of different classes."

Every attendee will receive a wristband at the entry, covering their fees for the classes they've entered, along with the flexibility to leave and re-enter the show during the day.

This year, the show's presidents are Lloyd and Sue Charmley, residents of Guilsfield since New Year’s Eve in 1991.

They said: "Well here we are again, another Guilsfield Show.

"We don’t know how many there have been, but it has been a fixture on our calendar for as many years as we can remember."

They also added: " We look forward to seeing you all at the show and hope the sun shines."

Entry to the show costs £10 for adults and £5 for children with a family ticket priced at £20.

A separate evening pass for the live music event from 4pm-9pm caters to those unable to attend the day's events.

According to Guy Ennever, the self-funding show depends on the enormous support of local community, show-goers and sponsors.

Apart from organising the show, the event also aims to raise money for charities.

Mr Ennever added: "Our 2024 Presidents, Lloyd and Sue Charmley, have nominated Brain Tumour Research and Lingen Davies as their chosen charities.

"We are sure you will agree these are very worthwhile causes."
