An investigation has been launched after a 5-metre-long drone had a wing shear off in flight in Powys.
The Air Accident Investigation Branch have confirmed they are looking into a crash that happened in the Radnor range near Presteigne at the end of last year.
The crash took place in the autumn on October 5 in 2023.

According to the Air Accident Investigation Branch the wing “detached from UA in flight”.
The Drone in question is a UAS CGT 50 which is “a 4,71 m wingspan T-Tail UAV.”
“It uses electric powered motors for take-off and landing and does not require a runway or catapult. It is a composite airframe with 5 kg payload capacity, powered by a petrol engine.
“The low fuel consumption enables a safe endurance of 6 hours.”
