A Powys man who has made more than 100 blood donations is encouraging others to make a potentially-lifesaving donation.
Billy Lloyd, from Rhayader could have saved as many as 300 lives through his 103 donations spanning three decades.
Billy, who works as a Dial-A-Ride driver for The Arches Rhayader District and Community Support, started donating his blood after seeing the lifesaving benefits first hand.

“My mother had a burst appendix,” said Billy. “She had to have six blood transfusions. I have given blood since I was 18, to pay back what my mother had, and have given blood ever since.
“I give blood twice a year and I’ve only missed giving blood once.
"It save lives and because there aren't many people eligible to give blood, I'm eligible so I always give.”
The Arches, who support people in need in the community in Rhayader praised Billy for his efforts.
In a post on social media they said: “Our Dial-A-Ride driver Billy made his 103rd blood donation yesterday (Monday, July 15).
“For Billy to reach over one hundred donations, it takes at least three decades and equates to potentially 300 patients saved.
“The need for blood is constant, and your contribution can make a significant impact in someone's life. Whether it's for accident victims, surgical patients, or those battling cancer, your donation is crucial.”
