This year’s Royal Welsh Show has been a feast for farming that anyone can enjoy – even those of us who aren't farmers.

This year was only the second time I have been to the show and it really is a joy and surprise for those who aren’t too familiar with it.

The Royal Welsh Show offers much more than just animals and judging, which some might expect from the country’s largest agricultural show.

Instead, it offers a huge range for visitors, there is all sorts of entertainment in the main ring from dog shows to JCB dancing and parachute display teams.

There are endless stalls and a huge market offering everything from sweet treats to vintage clothing.

If you enjoy you food – which I absolutely do – it is a challenge not to quickly empty your bank account stuffing your bag with everything on offer, which includes multi awards winning products from Wales’ best food producers.

This year was the first year I have actually been at the show and it has been sunny which has, as you would expect, just brought a smile on to everyone’s face and made it a much more relaxed and easy going day of a little more tiring.

The only thing that some may find challenging is the sheer scale of it all. To the uninitiated, you might compare it to a music festival like Leeds and Reading in terms of size, but the events and stalls on offer are so much more varied than you would expect.

At the end of the day my feet may hurt and I might be slightly regretting the amount of food in my bag but nobody can deny it is a great day out.
