The road between the Heol Ashley and Dolfor Road roundabouts will close overnight for resurfacing work next week.
Contractors will be carrying out work between 8pm and 6.30am from Tuesday to Thursday.
The Newtown Bypass is not affected by the roadworks. Powys County Council said there will be an alternative route signposted in the area during the temporary road closure.
