A car flipped off the road into water on a main Powys road leading to a road closure.

Emergency services were called out to near Llanbister on the A483 this morning (July 19) after a car came off the road.

When emergency teams arrived at the scene, they found that the car had come to rest upside down in a brook that runs alongside the road.

OTHER NEWS: 

According to Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue service, two people had made their way out of the car and were in the care of medical staff.

The crash led to the closure of the road by Dyfed-Powys Police who advised that drivers avoid the area this morning and find an alternative route.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 8.01am on Friday, July 19, a Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crew from Llandrindod Wells Fire Station was called to an incident along the A483 between Llanbadarn Fynydd and Llanbister.

“Crew members responded to a road traffic collision involving one private motor vehicle that had left the carriageway and come to rest upside down in a brook. 

“Two casualties were out of the vehicle prior to the arrival of crew members who were then treated by Ambulance Service personnel who were also in attendance. Crew members made the vehicle safe and left the scene at 8.42am.”
