TV personality and former glamour model Katie Price will be the star attraction at Builth Wells’ White Horse during this year’s Royal Welsh Show.
Price, who has this week revealed the results of her seventeenth boob job, heads a line-up that includes a cast of reality TV personalities from Love Island and its spinoffs, as well as an impressive list of DJs.
Price, 46, who rose to prominence in the late 1990s under the pseudonym ‘Jordan’ as a Page 3 model, will be appearing at the White Horse on Wednesday of show week – with the event running from Monday to Thursday, July 22-25.
The town centre venue will be offering free entry all week, but landlord Rory Owen is advising revellers to get there early each day to avoid disappointment.
“It’s free entry all week, people do not pay to get in,” said Rory, who is “ready for the chaos” of show week.
Wil and Uma, who recently left the current series of Love Island, will also be part of the bill at the White Horse, along with Love Island All Stars favourite Callum and duo Josh and Casey.
“We’ve got some big names again this year,” added Rory.
“There’s a few Love Islanders, including Uma and Wil, who are fresh out of the villa. They were favourites apparently so it was a bit of a bombshell when they left.
“Wil got voted out and Uma left with him. Callum is a fan favourite.”
The pub has garnered a reputation of being the place to be for a bit of celeb spotting during show week in town among younger revellers in recent years – last year the main guest was Joey Essex.
“We embrace it,” added Rory. “People get to meet and greet a few stars they know off the TV.”
Ibiza Rocks DJ Jay Thomas and Walkabout resident DJ James Bramhall will be spinning tunes at the pub throughout the week, while Danny T will be dropping his big bangers all night long.
Resident DJ Ian Davies has been with the pub since the start of Rory’s tenure 10 years ago, with Jordan Valleys and Blighty also in attendance this year.
But it is Price who is undoubtedly the biggest draw. After leaving her modelling days behind her, she has in more recent years become known for her reality TV appearances, including Celebrity Big Brother and I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, where she met first husband Peter Andre. Price has also released six autobiographies.
Rory is celebrating his 10th show week anniversary this year, while the hectic period will be ever so slightly more chaotic this year following the arrival of his first child, a daughter, just two weeks ago.
“It’s my 10th anniversary at the pub and I’m a new dad this year,” said the 32-year-old, who will employ 80-90 people during the week and is expecting to shift hundreds of barrels of beer.
“I have a newborn daughter who arrived 2 weeks ago, so it’s a bit more challenging but no harder than any other year.”
