Patients of Llanfair Caereinion Medical Practice will need to collect prescriptions early ahead of a system change at the practice.

As the Powys practice prepares to make a change to its clinical system on August 7, measures are being put in place for patients to receive their prescriptions in advance of the changeover.

The practise has said that while the system is being changed, “our dispensary team will be unable to process any routine prescription requests”.

A spokesperson for the practice explained: “There will be a period of downtime where we will have very limited access to our clinical system and therefore need to put measures in place to ensure patients can receive their prescriptions in advance of the changeover.

OTHER NEWS:

“We have issued two months’ supply of medication for patients from 24 June until 17 July 2024 if appropriate.

“For patients who order their monthly medication, please ensure you place your medication order by Monday 22 July which will mean it will be ready to collect before the downtime period.

“Any requests placed between Tuesday, 30 July, and Wednesday, 7 August, will be issued on Thursday, 8 August.

“If you require any medication urgently, you may need to attend a local pharmacy to obtain an emergency prescription. Please contact the practice to discuss any requests of this nature.

“Patients on our advanced ordering service will be unaffected by this change. You will still be able to collect during downtime.”
