Huge crowds turned out to watch the Llanidloes Carnival parade on one of the most popular events in the town’s summer calendar which has been described as a “massive success” by organisers.
Without a drop of rain falling, the procession led by Newtown Silver Band was joined by a large number of walkers and floats which were enjoyed by people of all ages on Saturday, July 13.
Organisers said that this year’s celebrations had been “very successful” with crowds joining the fun in the town centre and on the carnival field.
Last year’s Carnival Queen, Alice Turner, led the parade and the 2024 Queen, Seren Pugh, was crowned on the carnival field by mayoress Vicki Jones.

On the carnival field spectators were treated to a superb cheerleading display by the Llanidloes Dragonettes, followed by beautiful harmonies from the Hafren and Llanidloes Community Choir.
Later there was dancing to thrill the crowd from Rixie Marie and the Kids Street Dance Group. The afternoon ended with children’s fun sports and games.
The Llanidloes Carnival committee thanked the large number of people and groups who donated time and money to make sure the carnival was “such a massive success”.
“A special thanks as always to Llanidloes Football Club for hosting the activities on the carnival field,” a committee spokesperson added.
