A WARRANT has been issued for a woman after she failed to show up to court in order to be sentenced for a racially aggravated assault at a Powys pub.
Tanya Roe, 40, was due to appear at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 16, in order to be sentenced for a string of matters – including three racially aggravated offences.
Roe had denied racially aggravated assault on landlord Jitendrakumar Kishormbhai at The Red Lion, also known as Y Llew Coch, in Machynlleth on July 27 last year.
She had also pleaded not guilty to racially aggravated criminal damage at the pub, relating to a door and table, on the same date, but she was convicted of both offences at her trial in June.
Roe, of Tregarth, Machynlleth, had admitted common assault on Mr Kishormbhai, also on July 27, 2023, at an earlier hearing in February.
There are also three other matters against Roe, including failing to surrender to bail, set by Welshpool Magistrates' Court, on April 15 this year, a charge she previously admitted.
She had also previously admitted two separate charges of failing to comply with a community protection notice, in relation to playing loud music at her home, on November 25, 2023, and February 3 this year.
Magistrates issued a warrant not backed for bail.
