A NEWTOWN man says he does not accept breaching a restraining order relating to his ex-wife, and he is due to face trial later this year.
Stephen Bridge, 64, entered a not guilty plea to harassing his ex-wife on November 5 last year, when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 9.
The restraining order, also referred to as a protection from harassment order, against Bridge, of Glan y Dwr, Back Lane, Newtown, was imposed by a Shropshire court in August 2020.
Magistrates heard this week that the order relates to two people, including the defendant’s former wife.
Rob Hanratty, representing Bridge, said his client did not accept his conduct on November 5, 2023, amounted to a breach of the order.
The trial is scheduled to take place in Welshpool on September 2. Bridge was granted conditional bail.
