A THIEF has been handed hundreds of hours of unpaid work after stealing a fake designer handbag from a car in a town near the Powys border.
Thomas Hamilton admitted one count of attempted theft from a motor vehicle and three counts of theft from a motor vehicle when he appeared before magistrates in Bristol in July.
The court heard from prosecutor May Li that the 34-year-old had attempted to steal items of a value unknown belonging to a woman in Kington on January 28.

He had also stolen a set of horse clipper blades worth £40 to £50 from a second woman, a fake Louis Vuitton handbag from a third woman, and a refillable Smok G-Priv vape from a man, all in Kington on January 28.
Hamilton, of Dunkirk Road, Bristol, wash handed an 18-month community order and ordered to undergo six months of drug treatment and a nine-month mental health treatment programme.
He was also ordered to carry out 225 hours of unpaid work and pay prosecution costs of £85.
