WHEN a local firm heard that a Llandrindod Wells primary school was looking for new sports kits, after years of participating at sporting events with kits that were several years old and not in great condition, it was happy to oblige with new ones.
After Ysgol Trefonnen contacted local company, Kiernan Structural Steel, the leading steel manufacturing company agreed to sponsor the team and paid for several new kits for pupils to perform in.
This would not have been possible without their kind donation and shows a willingness to support the local community.
“We are delighted to sponsor a local school, and we hope it brings them luck for years to come,” said Niall Donnelly, of Kiernan Steel.
“On behalf of Ysgol Trefonnen, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kiernan Steel for the generous donation of the sports kit,” said Cathy James, health and wellbeing lead at the spa town school.

“Their support means the world to us and we are thrilled to wear such smart, stylish, and eye-catching attire at our community events.
“We will wear it with pride, knowing it represents the wonderful support we have received. We are very grateful for their kindness and contribution.”
The firm was approached by Year 5-6 teacher Paul Thompson, who said: “When I contacted Kiernan Steel, I was amazed by the kindness shown to us.
“We are truly grateful to their donation and are excited to wear these lovely kits to great success.”
