The River Severn Partnership has won a second award in recognition of its "groundbreaking work" to support the communities alongside the river.
The recognition came from The MJ (Municipal Journal) Achievement Awards 2024 where the partnership won the Innovation in Partnership category.
This comes on top of an award just a week earlier at the Local Government Chronicle Awards 2024.
The partnership offers support to 2.6 million people living alongside the UK's longest river.
The partnership includes several County Councils, Natural Resources Wales, Natural England, the National Farmers' Union, local nature partnerships, wildlife trusts, and academic institutions such as Birmingham City University.
The MJ Award judges said that the partnership had evidenced need for the intervention and they had ambition to improve several areas.
- Armed police and helicopter chase in village ends with drug arrests
- Powys man who groomed decoys he thought were children jailed for four years
- Newtown manufacturer secures string of US deals worth million
Prof Mark Barrow, co-chair of the River Severn Partnership, said: "The RSP's groundbreaking work has been recognised for its transformative impact on communities and the environment.
"As a strategic rural partnership, the RSP has pioneered an integrated approach to developing resilience in areas affected by flooding, redefining the management and utilisation of rivers as assets rather than liabilities.
"We are delighted to have been recognised again by our peers and to have won this second industry award for innovation."
