A Mid Wales search and rescue team were put on standby over concerns of a missing man near Lake Vyrnwy.

An overdue walker in Lake Vrywny triggered a standby warning for Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team on Wednesday, June 26.

Reporting the incident, a spokesperson for the rescue team said: “On Wednesday evening, the team were put on standby by Dyfed-Powys Police with concerns for an overdue walker above Lake Vyrnwy.”

Fortunately, the call was short lived as the walker was found “safe and well” soon after at 9pm, a few hours after they had first been reported overdue.

Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team added: “Just as the call handler was about to change the status to callout, Dyfed Powys Police confirmed the walker had been found safe and well.

“The team were stood down just after 9pm.”
