Newtown Town Council have announced the organisations in the town to receive money form the Community Fund grant.
The Fund is designed to support “local organisations and initiatives that contribute to the wellbeing and development of the community”.
Knit and Natter Newtown, 2nd Newtown Guide Unit, Hub of Hope Foundation, Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Mentor Men Wales, Open Newtown and Textile Junkies Ltd all received a grant of £1,000 each.

Arts Connection received a grant of £997.30, Rekindle Home got £988.18 whilst Newtown Robert Owen Scout Group had a donation of £860.
Smaller grants were given to Hafren Theatre (NPTC) who got £500 and Creative Stuff Newtown CIC recieved £449
A spokesperson for Newtown Town Council said: “These grants are awarded to support a wide range of community activities and services, from creative projects to support for local youth groups and family crisis centres.
“From time to time, the Town Council may identify specific Priority Themes that will take precedence in funding allocation. These themes will be detailed in the application form and publicised accordingly.”
