An Air Ambulance was in attendance after a JCB crashed in Powys.

Emergency services were called to a crash on Friday (June 21) after a JCB 535 Telehandler, which is used to lift heavy weights to high spots, crashed in Llandinam.

Fire, Police and Ambulance crews were called to the scene in the early evening after the crash left the person inside trapped.

Fire crews from Newtown and Llanidloes used specialised equipment to try and free the person inside.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 5.23pm on Friday, June 21, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) crews from Newtown and Llanidloes Fire Stations were called to an incident in Llandinam.

“Crews responded to a road traffic collision involving one JCB 535 Telehandler. Crews utilised hydraulic tools, airbags and small gear to extricate one casualty from the vehicle.

“This incident required a multi-agency response, with Dyfed-Powys Police, the Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance also in attendance.

“Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews left the scene at 6.45pm.”

Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed that he person was taken to hospital for further treatment but that his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Police were called at 5.25pm, Friday June 21, to a report that a vehicle had overturned on private property near Llandinam.

"The male driver was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

"No further police action required.”
