"We will be working like crazy over the coming weeks to bring our vision to life and we hope you’ll join us on this journey," the pair said in a post shared on Facebook on Thursday, June 20.
"This is a big step for us but one we’re so excited to take and we can’t wait to create unforgettable memories".
It's set to be open for people to enjoy social meals with friends, a quiet coffee break, and a space to unwind with a glass of wine and nibbles.
"Together, we’ve envisioned a space that combines the best elements of a contemporary, casual restaurant with a warm welcoming coffee house," Karlene and Yvonne said.
"The interior of Hiraeth will blend modern and rustic elements, celebrating the unique charm of our instantly recognisable Grade II-listed property.
"We wish to create a space in which you feel welcome and at ease, surrounded by the history and beauty of our town."
Karlene and Yvonne will be taking over Plynlimon House which has been advertised to let after fine dining restaurant 1894 closed almost 12 months ago.
The historic building was a clothing boutique before it was converted into a restaurant, but it is best known as a butcher shop whose owner Edward Hamer which became by royal appointment a purveyor of meat to Queen Victoria and other members of the Royal Family.

"I love being a part of this community," Yvonne said. "I love our town and all the wonderful independent businesses we have here and having my shop play a small part in this making our town what is it is very important to me.
"My shop will slowly become more varied in what it offers. I will still be making my jewellery but from now on it will be a jewellery range that’s available within the shop, rather than the main focus."
Speaking about the new venture with her "wonderful" business partner, Yvonne added: "Please show us some support because, to be completely honest we’re a bit terrified.
"This is a massive step, but we are also more inspired and determined than ever and absolutely beyond excited to finally be able to share this with you.
"We also hope this will be exciting news for the whole town and we cannot wait to take you on this journey with us and welcome you to ‘Hiraeth’ here in Llanidloes."
