A SECTION of road at a Powys beauty spot will be closed during the day for at least six months starting from next month.
The section, a 190-metre stretch near the Craig Goch Dam, in the Elan Valley, will be closed due to “critical maintenance works” that need to be carried out on the dam’s pipes.
The temporary road closure comes into force on Monday, July 1, and is due to be in place until January 12 next year.
“Notice is hereby given that Powys County Council has made an order, the effect of which will prohibit the passage of vehicles and pedestrians along a length of the U1551 Craig Goch Dam, Elan Valley, Rhayader,” said the local authority in a statement.
