Firefighters rushed to a chimney fire that broke out at a property in a Powys border town.
A crew from Bishop’s Castle were called to the Kerry Green area of the town shortly before 11pm on Thursday evening (June 20).
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service used chimney rods and stirrup pump to tackle the blaze.

After the fire was extinguished, a “thorough” inspection of the chimney was carried out by the emergency service who left the scene by 12.30am.
The fire service says having the chimney swept at least once a year, ensuring the flue is regularly inspected and test the fire alarm every week are some of things people can do to will help prevent chimney fires.
