Two emergency road closures are in place in Llanfair Caereinion at present while companies carry out service repairs.

Drivers in Llanfair Caereinion will have to deal with two emergency road closures around town as  Hafren Dyfrdwy and Scottish Power are carrying out work at two separate sites at the same time.

The first has seen a stretch of the B4385 on Mount Road put under 24 restrictions for all vehicles, between June 17 and June 21.

The road has been closed on behalf of Hafren Dyfrdwy, while they do works to renew a boundary box.

Shortly after work on Mount Road began, another emergency road closure was put in place near the town centre.

The B4389 on Watergate Street was also put under a 24-hour restriction on June 17, with the closure expected to last until June 24.

This closure has been put in place on behalf of Scottish Power, while they do works to repair HV cable fault to restore or prevent loss of supply.

The Watergate Street closure is next to the Llanfair Caereinion Fire Station, however the fire service have stated that the closure is not expected to affect their operations or other emergency vehicles.

They said: “Regarding the closure of Watergate Street, the Fire Rescue Service and Llanfair crew are aware of this, however it shouldn’t impact on their emergency response and they were able to get the fire truck out to respond an incident on Bridge Street on June 18.”
