OTHER NEWS:

“Having visited Llanfair Caereinion 18 months ago, we were told there was a space in the town for a Chinese takeaway and hoped that was the right call because soon after we started looking for properties.

“We spotted and bought our place on Hassel Square and spent a year getting the building ready and do it up properly.

“We had looked at a few buildings that we liked but didn’t quite suit what we wanted. Choosing this one was very much a case of the right building at exactly the right price for what we wanted to do.

“Even though it was the right building for us, we still needed to do a lot of work to make it what we wanted. One of the biggest jobs was putting in new joints and beams to repair the ceiling and knocking down a few internal walls to make space for our kitchen area.

“Before we owned it, the building was a hairdressers. I was also told by the previous owner that the building was originally built out of timber from old boats.

“As things got closer to opening we gained a lot of interest from the community. I had dozens of people asking me in the weeks leading up to opening when we were going to be up and running. So it was reassuring to know there was a need for us.

“We’ve been very busy in our first week, which is why I’m so glad we have such a good team here.

“It seems to have paid off as we’ve had very positive feedback from our first few customers, with plenty of nice comments.”
