A car on its roof blocked a road between Newtown and Kerry which resulted in police, firefighters and paramedics rushing to help on Friday night (June 14).

The single vehicle collision happened on a bend near the crossroads at the top of the Vastre along the A489 at around 9pm.

Two people were treated by paramedics at the scene for minor cuts and bruises.

Firefighters from Newtown along with police officers and paramedics responded to the incident before leaving shortly after 10pm.

A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crew members responded to a road traffic collision involving one private motor vehicle which had come to rest on its roof and was blocking the road.

“No persons were trapped within the vehicle.

"This incident required a multi-agency response with Dyfed-Powys Police and the Ambulance Service also in attendance.

“A vehicle recovery service was also at the scene."

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Officers attended the scene of a one-vehicle collision on the A489 between Newtown and Kerry at around 8.50pm on Friday 14th June.

"Two people were treated by paramedics at the scene for minor cuts and bruises."
