A WELL-known Powys golfer and fundraiser will be embarking on a gruelling event later this month.
Phil Jones from Newtown has organised two past charity fundraiser golf challenges but the 2024 edition promises to be even more challenging as he attempts to complete four courses in 72 hours to raise funds for The Lingen Davies Centre.
To add to his challenge he will be walking tee to green on all 72 holes.
He said: “This is a charitable life saving Service that has helped a lot of my family, friends and acquaintances fight this horrific disease.

“This disease affects everyone reading this albeit fighting for their lives and unfortunately losing people to this condition.
“We had a huge shock when my wife Mandy was diagnosed in 2018 and The Lingen Davies Centre provided top class treatment along with the people who work there who deal with this day in day out so professionally and with deep understanding.”
Any sponsors or fundraising suggestions are asked to contact Phil Jones via Facebook with the event taking place on Friday, June 21st, starting at 4am at St Idloes, then St Giles in Newtown, Welshpool and ending at Lakeside Golf Club in Garthmyl.
