Volunteers from across the area have been recognised at the Powys Volunteer of the Year Awards.
The 12th annual event, organised by Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations (PAVO), took place at Dering Lines in Brecon on June 6, attended by 125 local volunteers and guests.
Those in attendance included dignitaries such as His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant, Tia Jones, and High Sheriff of Powys, Lady Kathryn Silk JP.
The awards celebrate the contributions of individual and group volunteers, spread across eight categories.
Nominees were shortlisted from a community nomination process held back in March, with panels of experts selecting the winners.
PAVO CEO, Clair Swales, hosted the event, and said: "Everyone who was put forward for an award should be very proud."
She also added: "Congratulations to all our winners and a huge thank you to all our Powys volunteers."
Jamie Burt, PAVO chair of trustees, echoed these sentiments, saying: "This is my third Powys Volunteer of the Year Awards as PAVO Chair of Trustees and it is always emotional to see the human impact of volunteering.
"Thank you to all the volunteers across the county for everything you do."
The top honour, the PAVO Outstanding Contribution Award, was presented to The South and Mid Wales Cave Rescue Team (SMWCRT).
Volunteer Dan Thorne, accepting the award, voiced his astonishment at the honour, saying: "We’re shocked and delighted to receive the PAVO Outstanding Contribution Award winner.
