While attending a Powys mountainbiking event with their own stall, a Mid Wales rescue team managed to raise £6,000.

Through their fundraising at the Red Bull Hardline mountain biking event near Dinas Mawddwy, Aberdyfi Search & Rescue Team were able to collect £6,000 towards their operation.

With team members attending the event for two days on June 1 and June 2, they collected money through generous donations from other attendees, selling signed race kits donated by the Hardline organisers, and merchandise that was raffled off over the two days.

Team volunteer and fundraising officer Matt Young was present at the event, he said "It was a full-on few days and we were incredibly well supported. All in all, we managed to raise a remarkable £6000 for the Team. Diolch yn Fawr.

“It was an amazing couple of days where we benefited from the generosity of all who attended.

“Special thanks are due to the Atherton family and Dyfi Bike Park for providing the opportunity and donating lots kit and merchandise for us to sell; the competitors for donating signed race kit; Dora RGB, a local artist who donated the original artwork of the event's logo, Red Bull and other businesses for donated merchandise which we were able to raffle-off over the 2 days.
