Network Rail has apologised to any motorists who were delayed after a Powys level crossing failed.

Drivers were caused delays yesterday evening (June 2) after the level crossing on the A470 at Caersws developed a technical fault leaving the barriers stuck down.

This led to Dyfed-Powys Police to issue a warning to motorists to avoid the area.

In a post on social media a spokesperson for the force said: “There are currently delays due to barriers currently not working.

“Please be patient and take an alternative route if possible or plan extra time into your journey.”
