A woman is to stand trial accused of burglary at a house in Montgomery from where she is alleged to have stolen house keys and two mobile phones.

Amy Lewis, 33, of Lon Maesycoed, Newtown, denied the burglary dwelling charge of theft with violence when she appeared via video link at Mold Crown Court on Friday, May 31.

She is said to have been a trespasser at a property in Manor House Close, Montgomery on November 21 last year, and was allegedly violent towards Victoria Foster who was inside the house at the time.

His Honour Judge Rhys Rowlands told the court: "It’s an absolutely stonking gorgeous place; well-presented, Georgian square, very small, very rural."

Lewis' barrister Alycia Carpanini told the judge that the Newtown woman denies any violence and taking items.

The 33-year-old is to face a two-day trial on one count of burglary of a dwelling at Mold Crown Court on October 31.

She was given conditional bail not to contact Ms Foster or enter Manor House Close.
