Excitement has been high among Powys school pupils, as the National Urdd Eisteddfod arrived in Montgomeryshire this week for the first time in more than 35 years.

Photographer Phil Blagg has shared these brilliant pictures, taken on behalf of the County Times, from the event at Mathrafal Farm, near Meifod.

And they show that things are going swimmingly for the home side, with Powys pupils taking home plenty of medals and enjoying a fantastic occasion!
