A dog wash day in Llanfyllin saw dozens of animals groomed to raise money for the purchase of a community field.
On Sunday, May 26, Woofterz Dog Grooming hosted a dog wash, with all proceeds from the event going to the council’s bid to purchase Cae Bodfach community field, frequently used for events and gatherings within Llanfyllin.
Six groomers from the business were on hand for dogs and their owners attending the event, between 10am and 4pm, with no appointment needed as people were invited to turn up for the walk-in service.

Julian Sandy, Woofterz owner, said: “Martin and I would like to thank everyone who turned up today. We must have washed 50 or so dogs in the end.
“A massive shout out to Rhian at Pawsome Pet Nanny for doing the teas and coffees, Debbie and Noah at Dazzles Academy Dog Grooming in Wrexham, Sian at Barks and Bubbles in Welshpool, Ceri at Nose to Toes in Welshpool and Gina at Sud Woofer in Wrexham.”
“We had six fabulous groomers, Jules, Martin, Debbie, Ceri, Sian, and Gina, giving up their time as well as a raffle and refreshments.
“We were also privileged to have Sarah from Arran vets on hand for any concerns or advice visitors may have needed for pooches in the salon.”
