As festivities for the 2024 Urdd Eistdeddfod kicked off from its venue in Powys, here is what visitors can expect from the weather for the rest of the week.
With the Urdd being welcomed to Meifod with a mostly clear day on Monday, May 27, conditions are set to get a bit wetter for the next few days of the event.
Tuesday, May 28, has already proven to be a damper day, with rain forecast throughout the day. Showers are expected to be at their heaviest for 3pm and 4pm. Despite the downpour forecast to be slightly lighter later own the rain is still expected to linger well into the evening.
Wednesday weather
The weather is forecast to be milder on Wednesday, with a mix of cloudy and sun in the morning followed by cloudy skies in the afternoon with only a slight chance of rain and temperatures of 16 degrees.
Thursday weather
The rain is forecast to return on Thursday morning, as drizzle is expected from 7am onwards in the fields of Mathrafal Farm.
Conditions are forecast to ease up in the afternoon, with light showers expected from 12pm to 3pm before clearing up for later in the afternoon with more sunny intervals into the early evening.
Friday weather
Visitors can expect a similar mix on Friday, with cloudy skies in the morning at light rain expected at 11am. Conditions should return to cloudy at 12pm with more sunshine in the afternoon and temperatures of 17 degrees.
The last day of the Eisteddfod could end on a high with the best weather of the week, as sun is forecast throughout the day, mildly cloudy in the early afternoon followed by more sun from 2pm onwards.
