WELCOME to another special edition of bygones.

By now you must have all seen the Urdd National Eisteddfod is coming back to Montgomeryshire after a wait of more than 30 years.

Of course, it is worth remembering north Powys was once a far more regular host.

Machynlleth hosted the event in 1932 and again in 1952 while Llanidloes staged the celebration in 1970.
