Llangurig residents saw the first time their pieces of artwork come together for a special festival in the village.
The Big Picture arts festival took place at St Curig’s Church on Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19, which ended with a Songs of Praise.
Across the winter residents of Llangurig have had different sections of a picture to complete in their own fashion. Each section is then combined to make the final Big Picture, which reflects the landscape, flowers and insects around the village.
The artwork, which is several metres tall and wide, was hung on the arch of the church tower.
Organiser Mary Davies said each person has had their own section they have worked on, but the weekend was the first time that all those pieces of work are combined to make the final artwork.
She added that the weekend was an opportunity for local residents and visitors alike to see a whole variety of artworks in” the special place” that is St Curig’s Church.
The weekend festival also featured artworks by a range of artists both local and further afield, plus various stalls with artworks, craft and historic prints for sale.
