A POWYS man has denied owning a dangerously out of control dog that injured a woman at his home.
Thomas Langford, 62, will face a trial later this year after he entered a not guilty plea to one offence at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court this week.
He denied a charge of being an owner in charge of a dog that was dangerously out of control, causing injury.
Langford’s dog, a Staffordshire bull terrier, is alleged to have bitten a delivery driver on September 21, 2022, while she was delivering a package to the defendant’s home in Berriew, near Welshpool.
Langford had initially been due to attend court earlier this month, but the case was adjourned on that occasion.
At court on Tuesday, May 21, Rob Hanratty, acting for Langford, said his client suffered a stroke last year, and he appeared at the hearing via videolink from his bed.
Magistrates told Langford, of The Meadows, Berriew, that his trial will take place in Welshpool on July 9.
