A MAN will be sentenced next month after admitting assaulting a woman in Powys.
Jack Saunders, 38, admitted a charge of assaulting Kelly Thomas in Crickhowell on April 14 when he appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Friday, May 17.
Saunders denied two other charges relating to the victim, including making threats to kill and strangling her.
Saunders appeared via videolink as he has been on remand at Swansea Prison since his arrest on April 16.
Prosecutor Georgia Donohue said the Crown Prosecution Service would not seek a trial on the making threats to kill and strangulation offences, so Saunders can now be sentenced.
Judge Simon Mills adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report to be carried out.
Saunders, of Cwm Uchaf Farm, near Aberdare, will return to court to be sentenced on June 14. He will remain on remand until that date.
