The A483 in Powys remained closed this morning after the flash flooding and landslides overnight.
According to Traffic Wales the A483 between Newtown and Crossgates was still closed this morning (May 13) after a severe downpour caused flash flooding and landslips - leaving debris all over the road.
In an update this morning Traffic Wales said that “Llanbadarn Fynydd (Newtown to Crossgates). The road is currently closed in both direction due to flooding and debris. Please avoid the area.”

Reports came in yesterday evening of a landslide between Llanbadarn Road and Newtown on the A483 leading to the emergency services closing the road.
Witnesses in the area have said they had never seen anything like this before and reported “uprooted trees” and “fast flowing debris”.
There were fears yesterday that public transport could be affected this morning after the overnight downpour however train services are running as normal in the county.
Traffic Wales confirmed that the debris had been cleared at around 12pm and that traffic would be returning to normal with the "the road reopened in both directions".
