A WELSHPOOL man accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on his ex-partner’s new boyfriend has denied the offence.
Kieran Goodwin, 25, is alleged to have assaulted Joshua Dwyer in Welshpool on January 31, 2023.
Goodwin, of Little Henfaes Drive, appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 7, where he entered a not guilty plea to unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm upon Mr Dwyer.
The court heard that an allegation of assault causing actual bodily harm with which Goodwin was originally charged had officially withdrawn by prosecutor Helen Tench.

Gurleen Kaur, representing Goodwin, agreed the case was suitable for a magistrates' court trial.
Magistrates told Goodwin his trial will take place in Welshpool on July 24.
Goodwin was granted bail, with one condition – not to contact Mr Dwyer via any means.
