Landlsides have closed two roads in Powys after poor weather from Storm Pierrick.

Powys County Council have confirmed that two roads in the county will be closed until further notice after landslides overnight left them impassable.

The A4067 from Ystradgynlais to Cray will be closed from Caerbont roundabout and the C0200 Hoel Giedd junction on the Ystradgynlais bypass while the council clears the area to make it passable and safe.

Dyfed Powys Police have advised driver to “please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey.”

A spokesperson for Powys County Council said: “The A4067 between Caerbont roundabout and the C0200 Hoel Giedd junction on the Ystradgynlais bypass is currently closed due to a landslide.

“The road will be closed while we arrange for removal of debris and make the area safe to reopen.”

MP for Brecon and Radnorshire Fay Jones also warned drivers to “take care” in the area around Crai.

Along with this a second road has also been closed near Llandinam with disruption expected last there for around a fortnight. 

Powys County Council's Highways team said: "An emergency road closure on the C2186 LLANDINAM is in place from the 9-23 Apr 2024 (9am-3pm) on behalf of Powys County Council due to a landslip.

This will mean traffic travelling near Y Foel may have to take an alternative route. 

There are flood alerts in place this morning for the Lower Severn, the Upper Towey, and the Wye.
