McDonald’s restaurant team collected an impressive 30 bags of rubbish as part of the recent Tidy Newtown Week Litter event in a bid to keep their local area tidy.
Eight crew members and helpers from the Pool Road restaurant focussed the clean-up on Commercial Street, Canal Road and surrounding areas with the team starting at the Robert Owen Museum.
The restaurant also donated litter pickers and rubbish bag hoops to allow the local community to host their own litter picks during the week in a bid to cover an even wider area.
McDonald’s franchisee Ralph Parker, who owns and operates the restaurant in Newtown, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of my fantastic team for giving their time to their local community, ensuring the areas we all enjoy are clear of litter – making them a better and brighter place for those that live here.
“We continue to put people at the very heart of what we do, and this is just one example of our dedication to being a good neighbour. It’s particularly exciting to be a part of initiatives like this in 2024 as McDonald’s celebrates its 50th year in the UK.”
