An overnight closure will affect a Mid Wales road, potentially creating a lengthy diversion for those travelling near Rhayader.
Traffic Wales North and Mid confirmed that, starting tonight (Friday, March 15) at 7pm, a stretch of the A470 will be closed in both directions overnight.

The stretch of road is from Ty Gamallt to Marteg Bridge, north of Rhayader, which will be closed between 7pm and 6am for a week, with the close scheduled to end on Saturday, March 23.
The closure has been put in place to facilitate resurfacing works being carried out on the road.
A diversion has been put in place, taking drivers as far as Newtown in order to bypass the closed stretch of road.
