Llanfair Caereinion’s Community Café are celebrating a milestone in their aim to provide an accommodating space for their community.
On March 13, the community initiative revealed that they had received a 5-star Food Hygiene rating following a recent inspection.
Since launching in 2023, the community café has been providing a monthly hot meal deal which has reportedly proven to be a big hit with the community, with the next hot meal deal scheduled for Friday, 5 April.
Ruth Bates, one of the café’s leaders, said: “We thank our volunteers for their hard work to ensure our café is run to high hygiene standards and always providing a welcome to the community.”

Having served nearly 500 people during its pilot phase in 2023, the café re-opened for 2024 in January and introduced extended opening hours, opening weekly from 12pm until 4pm, serving hot savoury snacks, soup and homemade cakes.
Ms Bates added: “The purpose of the cafe is to provide a safe space for people of all ages to meet, network and socialise.
“If you do know of somebody who would like to attend but is unable to due to transport or mobility issues, please let us know and we will do our best to help arrange support so that they can attend.”
