A BIKER has been banned for a month and fined £700 after he was caught doing nearly 100 mph on the Brecon bypass.
Craig Hughes, 48, was seen riding his Harley Davidson bike on the A40 near Brecon in May 21 last year at a speed of 98 miles per hour.
Hughes, of Plas Y Fan, Brecon, was caught by police travelling along the Brecon bypass just after 2pm; the speed limit on this stretch of road is 70mph due to being a dual carriageway.
Hughes had pleaded guilty by post to a charge of speeding.
At Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court on Monday, February 19, he was fined £500 for the offence and disqualified from driving for 28 days.
He was told to pay a £200 surcharge, but magistrates awarded no costs.
