A Powys driver caught out while almost twice the limit has been banned from the roads after being stopped in Yorkshire.

Jacinta Street, from just outside Clyro on the Wales-England border in Radnorshire, appeared before magistrates on February 14 after entering a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the alcohol limit.

The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hughes that the 27-year-old was caught out in Barnsley after getting behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Polo while over the alcohol limit on January 24.

An evidential breath test revealed that Street, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor P Stables, had 65 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, almost twice the limit of 35 microgrammes.
